COB refers to chip on board technology, which means the COB LED chips are mounted directly on the FPCB. This makes the COB LED strip can dissipate heat better while the strip is working so can have more leds on the FPCB to make it high density such as 320leds/m, 480leds/m, 512leds/m and even to 840leds/m.
These high density LEDs on board features make the COB LED strip more and more popular since it can lead to dotless and uniform lighting. White color temperature is the most popular there is warm white 2700k, natural white 4000k, day light 5000k and cool white 6500k for options.
Another point is that COB LED strip is not able to make high efficiency LED strip such as 150lm/m or 200lm/m recently because lack of bracket protection, now mostly is 100lm/m and at most 130lm/w cob LED strip .
