High Efficiency LED Strip VS Regular LED Strip

SuntechLite is a top manufacturer and supplier that focuses on pixel LED strips and LED neon lights.

Have you ever encountered these problems: uneven brightness of light strips, too high energy consumption, or obvious dimming at the end after long-distance installation?

High efficiency LED strip VS regular LED strip? Which one to choose? This article will compare three mainstream high-efficiency LED strips through actual test data to help you find the most suitable model.

There are three types of high-efficiency lumen LED Strip: 210lm/w, 180lm/w and 100lm/w. They have their own characteristics, please check the pictures below to see their advantages:

High Efficiency LED Strip VS Regular LED Strip

Comparison: High-Efficiency LED Strips (210 LM/W, 180 LM/W, and 100 LM/W)

Parameter 210 LM/W 180 LM/W 100 LM/W
Product Model ST-1802410-2835-H ST-1602410-2835-C-H ST-1202410-2835
Type Constant Voltage Constant Current Constant Voltage
Voltage DC24V DC24V DC24V
Power Consumption 10W/m 15W/m 12W/m
Luminous Efficiency 210 LM/W 180 LM/W 100 LM/W
Brightness at Head 2100 LM/m 2700 LM/m 1200 LM/m
Brightness at End 2041 LM/m (minimal drop) 2700 LM/m (constant due to current control) 745 LM/m (significant drop)
Voltage at Head 24V 24V 24V
Voltage at End 23.28V 21.8V 20.6V
Applications Energy-efficient and shorter installations High brightness, professional lighting Budget-friendly, shorter installations

The table shows that 180LM/w is a constant current led strip, and the other two are constant voltage led strips. You can check the difference between constant current led strips and constant voltage led strips. We can see the voltage drop of the three models, and DC24V 100LM/W has a larger voltage drop. We can compare the different voltage drops of other voltage Led strips, such as DC5V, DC12V and DC24V, to select the appropriate LED strip.

Key Insights: Which is Better?

1.210 LM/W (High Efficiency LED Strip):

(1) Minimum power is 10W/m.
(2) Has minimal brightness attenuation (2041 LM/m at the end).
(3) Ideal for long-distance high-efficiency led strips.

2.180 LM/W (Moderately High Efficiency LED Strip):

(1) Under constant current design, it can reach a maximum brightness of 2700 LM/m and maintain a constant brightness.
(2) Suitable for occasions with high output requirements and high brightness requirements.

3.100 LM/W (Regular Efficiency Led Strip):

(1) Moderate power consumption 12W/m;

(2) Brightness is greatly reduced from 1200lm/m to 745lm/m.

(3) Most suitable for short-term operation or cost-sensitive projects.

Recommendation:

1. If you need to save energy and install over long distances, please choose 210LM/W. The 210LM/W LED strip is suitable for museum display cabinet lighting and art gallery track lighting (needs to be uniform and without attenuation).
2. If you need high brightness and stable output in harsh environments, you can choose 180LM/W. 180LM/W LED strip for commercial window lighting, and car modification strip lighting (extreme environmental stability required).
3. If you have a smaller budget and a smaller project, you can go with 100 LM/W, as these installations can tolerate a slight voltage drop. 100LM/W LED strip for temporary event decoration, and rental house renovation (low cost replaceable).

Suntechlite produces high-quality LED strips. How to check the quality of led strips is very important. Not only that, we will also select and recommend according to customer needs in order to achieve the most perfect visual effect.
